Bachelor of Pharmacy is a four-year course. This course is affiliated to University of Pune. During study of this course, students are exposed to different subjects theoretically as well as practically.

Well set-up laboratories in compliance with the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education, Delhi) and PCI (Pharmacy Council of India) rules and regulations and knowledge-driven faculty ensure to impart best quality education to these budding pharmacists.

Apart from main subjects like pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology and pharmacognosy, students also study microbiology, biotechnology, anatomy and physiology and many more to pen down. Apart from curriculum, students are supposed to undergo four week industrial in-plant training where they come to know actual working of the industry.

I.Introduction

   The B. Pharm. Degree Course will be of 4 years duration









II.Admission

    Admissions to the, Course will be made as per the rules and regulations of Govt. of Maharashtra.

V.ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

• candidate should have

1.Passed the HSC (Std. XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with:

>English as one of the subjects
>Both subjects mentioned under Group -I and
>Anyone of the subjects mentioned under Group-ll
>Group-I 1. Physics 2. Chemistry
>Group-II 1.Mathematics 2.Biology 3.Biotechnology 4.Computer Science


2. Secured minimum 50% marlcs (45% for backward class.candidates ITom Maharashtra-State only)in Physics,Chemistry and the subject of maximum marks amongst the 4 subjects of Group-II, added together.

3. Appeared for Maharashtra Pharmacy Common Entrance Test (MAH-PH-CET) conducted by the competent authority for the academic year and secured non zero MAH-PH-CET score.The above eligibility criteria may be subject to change depending upon the rules and regulations of the Govt. of Maharashtra.









VI.GRANT OF TERMS

• The course of study in each subject will be not less than 30 weeks (180 days) in a year excluding the days spent in Sessional & University examinations


• No student shall be allowed to appear for the University Examination unless he/she has attended 75% of theory lectures and practicals separately of each subject







VII. INTERNAL ASSESSMENT

• At least, three sessional examinations will be held by the teaching institute every year for the purpose of internal assessment. Sessional marks will be calculated as the average of the best two performances at these examinations. These marks will' be submitted to University before commencement of the University Examinations. A candidate failing in any of the Universirv examinations will have a chance to improve sessional marks.













VIII. EXAMINATION


• To pass in each examination ofB. Phanll. Course the candidate must have obtained

a) At least 40% of the marks in Theory (excluding Sessional Marks i.e. 32 out of 80 & 400ut of 100) and 45% of the marks in Practical (excluding Sessional Marks i.e. 36 out of 80 & 45 0ut of 100) separately in each subject and


b)must have obtained at least 50% ofthetotai'tnarks assigned to that examination.













IX. STANDARDS OF PASSING


• To pass in each examination ofB. Phanll. Course the candidate must have obtained

X. ATKT/BACKLOG

a) A candidate failing in an examination will be allowed to cany a backlog of maximum two subject next year. The candidate must clear these two subjects independently or simultaneously at the next exam. The term subject means both theory and practical together.


b) A faiiingfATKT candidate who has passed in a panicular subject may, at his/her option, be exempted form appearing in that subject at a subsequent examination.


c) No candidate will be admitted to. Third Year B. Pharm unless he/she has passed the First Year B. PhaBIl examination


d) No candidate will be admitted to Final Year B. Pharm unless he/she has passed the Second YearB. Pharm examination.











XI.AWARD OF CLASS/DECLARATION OF RESULTS

• Admission test being followed, name and address of the Test Agency and its URL (website).



• Class will be awarded to the candidate at each ex;amination.The subject or subjects in which a successful candidate may have secured distinction v.ill be shown on his mark-sheet. b order to obtain distinction in a subject at an examination, the candidate should pass the examination in the first attempt and should obtain 70% of the fuii marks in that subject. Oniy those candidates who have passed an examination in one attempt will be elligible for any prize or scholarship to be awarded for that examination.


• The following shall be the mode of Award of Class at an examination.

1. Candidates obtaining 70% or more of Grand Total: First Class with Distinction.
2. Candidates obtaining 60% or more but less than 70 % of Grand Total; First Class.
3. Candidates obtaining 50 % or more but less than 60% of Grand Total: Second Class.


• The names of first five merit candidates from the list of successful candidates will be shown in the notification of result of the examination published by the University. Every candidate shall be required to undergo at least one months Practical traning(continuous or in parts) at any time after the end of the second Year B.Pharm. examination,in a Recognized Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Concern or in an Analytical Laboratory or in a Chemical Manufacturing Unit or Pharmaceutic. Research OrgaRization orBospital (Clinical Phamracy), failing which, he/she wilInot be eligible for.conferment of degree by the University.











XII. MISCELLANEOUS

• This revised curriculum(including regulation,structure and syllabi)will be in force for academic year 2004-2005 and onwards for First Year B.Pharm. for academic year 2004-2006 onwards for secondyear B.Pharm. for academic year 2006-2007 and onwards for Third Year B.Pharm, and for academic year 2007-2008 and onwards for Final Year B.Pharm.


• A candidate failing in an examination with old course, will have to clearly that examination with old course only. However, he/she will have to take the subsequent higher examinations with new courses.The equivalence of old and new syllabus for such student will be decided by the University from time to time.
